Ansu Fati's farewell to Barça

Ansu Fati has definitively closed his chapter at FC Barcelona and joined Monaco with a four-year contract. The forward, who emerged from La Masia, made his debut in the 2019-20 season and quickly became a symbol of hope for the fans, even inheriting the number 10 jersey after Lionel Messi's departure. At just 16 years and 318 days old, he became the youngest player in the 21st century to score and assist in the same LaLiga match.

Lights and shadows in his time at the club

Injuries marked his journey in Barcelona. A meniscus tear in 2020 kept him out for nine months, and then he suffered muscle problems that limited his continuity. Even so, he accumulated 123 official matches, with 29 goals and six assists, in addition to winning two La Liga titles, two Copa del Rey titles, and one Supercopa de España. In an interview with AS, he confessed: "The truth is that when I signed with Monaco, I felt both sadness and joy.  I spent many years at Barça and left behind friends and people from La Masia. The first few days were sad, but that's life. You have to accept what comes and keep looking forward."

Dreams with the Spanish national team

With the Red also left a mark at 17 years and 311 days, becoming the youngest to score with Spain in September 2020. His last appearance was in the qualification for Euro 2024, but he still holds onto the hope of returning: "Yes, why not. That is my goal, to keep working, to be able to play, and to be available almost all the time. If I achieve that, there will be no doubt that I can reach the level I want." Now, with the challenge of establishing himself at Monaco, he seeks to regain consistency and prove that he still has much to offer in the European elite.
