Real Madrid Continues To Be an Injury Crisis Zone and Will Face Their Champions League Match With Six Players Out
Real Madrid will host Monaco with six confirmed absences, yet they remain hopeful of securing three key points to edge closer to the Champions League Top 8. The squad is highlighted by the missing Militao, Mendy, and Rodrygo, alongside the call-up of two academy players
Real Madrid will face a tough challenge this Tuesday (21:00 CET) at the Bernabéu against Monaco with up to six confirmed absences. Carreras is ruled out due to suspension, joining an injury list that includes Militao, Trent, Mendy, Rodrygo, and Rüdiger, as well as Brahim, who just finished his Africa Cup of Nations campaign last Sunday.
Both the German center-back and the Brazilian winger still had a slim chance of making the squad, but the coaching staff ultimately decided not to take any risks with either player. The midfield is the only line where Arbeloa has no absences, and he will look to capitalize on this for the clash against the Principality club. Madrid is aiming for the three points that would bring them closer to their first major goal of the 2025-26 Champions League: qualifying among the top eight teams in Europe.
Among the key updates is the inclusion of two youth prospects, Pol Fortuny and Mesonero, both midfielders called up by the coach to bolster the center of the pitch.
Real Madrid Squad List:
- Goalkeepers: Courtois, Lunin, Fran González.
- Defenders: Carvajal, Alaba, Asencio, Fran García, Huijsen.
- Midfielders: Bellingham, Camavinga, Valverde, Tchouameni, Arda Güler, Ceballos, Pol Fortuny, Mesonero.
- Forwards: Vini Jr., Mbappé, Gonzalo, Mastantuono.
