Yamal explained that he often comes across people who view his situation as privileged and even tell him they would like to have his life. "It always happens when I'm walking around Barcelona. Maybe I'll go buy some clothes and people will say: ‘I wish I were Lamine and could buy whatever I wanted” he said during his conversation with Valdano.

The player's response was emphatic: "But for me, it's the other way around." With that statement, he made it clear that money and fame do not fully make up for the loss of freedom he experiences away from the pitch, especially when he tries to move around the city like any other person.

The Luxury Yamal Wants Back in Barcelona

The Barça star said that one of his biggest wishes is to enjoy Barcelona without constantly being under the public's gaze. "I wish I were you and could go out for a drink on this street in peace,” he said, adding that he would also like to spend time with people without drawing too much attention.

The forward is coming off one of the best summers of his career after winning the World Cup with Spain, and during the same interview, he also discussed his sporting ambitions, including winning the Ballon d'Or and continuing to develop into one of the biggest stars in world football.
