FC Barcelona Prepares for Possible Departure of Robert Lewandowski
Serhou Guirassy, the Target to Strengthen the Attack
Faced with this scenario, the Blaugrana board already has a potential replacement in mind: Serhou Guirassy, striker for Borussia Dortmund. The Guinean forward is highly regarded for his characteristics, especially for fitting the type of “number 9” needed in Barcelona’s playing system. He is a striker with physical strength, presence in the box, and a strong finishing ability, but also capable of contributing to build-up play.
This last point is particularly appealing for the club. Guirassy is not a static striker; he knows how to link up, drop deep, and connect with his teammates. In a team like Barça, this could be key to complement players such as Raphinha and Lamine Yamal, as he can drop a few meters, create chances for the wingers, and take part in the construction of plays from a deeper position.

Standout Season and Transfer Context
His season with Borussia Dortmund has been outstanding. So far, he has recorded 18 goals and six assists, establishing himself as one of the most important players in the squad managed by Niko Kovac and as one of the team’s most reliable attacking pieces.
However, signing him would not be easy. Guirassy is under contract until 2028, and his value is around €50 million, a figure that is not easy for Barcelona to afford given its current financial situation. Therefore, the club would need to explore negotiation strategies to reduce the cost of the deal and make it viable within its financial limitations.
Still, Barça believe they should not miss the opportunity to pursue a striker of this profile, capable of guaranteeing goals and who, relatively speaking, remains more affordable compared to other attackers on the market. Additionally, the club’s intention would be to sign a player who can adapt and grow within the project without heavily impacting the already tight financial fair play margin.
A Major Challenge for Barcelona
Replacing Lewandowski will not be an easy task. The Polish striker has been a key offensive reference, and finding an attacker with similar characteristics is not common in the market. However, Guirassy appears as an option with certain similarities in his playing style, which is why he has attracted the interest of Barcelona, a club that is already beginning to accept that next season could start without its current top scorer.
