Diego Simeone Does Not Close the Door on Julián Álvarez: “Everything Can Be Reversed, as Long as There Is Health”
Diego Simeone confirmed Julián Álvarez will miss the match against Sevilla but left the door open for his continued stay at Atlético de Madrid with a comment that adds to the uncertainty.
Diego Simeone was once again asked about Julián Álvarez's situation and, although he confirmed that the striker will not be available against Sevilla, he stopped short of considering the matter closed.
Speaking at a press conference ahead of the match at the Sánchez Pizjuán, the Atlético de Madrid manager insisted that the club's position had already been clearly explained. However, from a sporting perspective, Simeone said his intention remains to help the forward feel important within the team once again.
Julián Álvarez's situation has become one of the main talking points surrounding Atlético. The striker missed three consecutive training sessions with the squad due to an illness and will also be unavailable for the clash against the Sevilla side.
“Everything Can Be Reversed”: Simeone's Message
The comment that quickly drew attention came when Simeone was asked about the possibility of Julián Álvarez fully rejoining the team.
The manager responded with a brief but significant statement: “Everything can be reversed as long as there is health.”
For the Cholo, the priority appears to be getting the player back and restoring the prominent role he has held since joining the Rojiblancos. Julián is considered an important piece for Atlético de Madrid, so his potential stay would represent an appealing sporting scenario for the manager.
Atlético Stays Focused Despite the Argentine's Situation
Simeone was also asked whether Julián Álvarez's situation is affecting the rest of the dressing room, and he said he does not believe the issue is interfering with his players' work.
“I don't see it. I think the players are working very well,” the manager said.
The coach highlighted the performances against Málaga and Villarreal, while also stressing the importance of approaching the match against Sevilla with focus. The schedule leaves Atlético with little room for distractions, as the team faces a series of away matches outside the Metropolitano.

Julián Álvarez's Future Remains Up in the Air
The manager confirmed that he will not be able to count on him against Sevilla, although he made it clear that, when the striker returns to training, he will once again receive the coaching staff's full support.
“When he returns to training with us, we will give him everything we have always given him so that he feels, as he has felt, as important as he is to this team,” Simeone stated.
Meanwhile, Atlético must turn its attention toward Sevilla and a season that is only just beginning. Simeone, for his part, also celebrated a historic milestone: 800 matches in charge of Atlético de Madrid, a feat he jokingly referenced by pointing out that the journalists had forgotten to congratulate him.
