Could Victor Osimhen Be Barcelona’s Plan B to Strengthen Their Attack?
Barcelona are searching for a new striker… and while several names are on the table, one is quietly gaining ground.
Osimhen emerges on Barcelona’s radar
FC Barcelona continue to explore options to strengthen their attack ahead of next season, and while their primary target remains elsewhere, the name Victor Osimhen is starting to gain attention.
The Nigerian striker, currently playing for Galatasaray, has re-established himself as one of the most attractive forwards on the market thanks to his impressive recent performances.
A profile that fits… but not the first choice
Within the club, Osimhen is viewed as a viable alternative in case a move for Julián Álvarez — the top priority — does not materialize.
His numbers speak for themselves: 56 goals in 70 matches, making him one of the most effective strikers in European football. However, concerns remain, particularly regarding his turbulent exit from Napoli after winning the league title.
Other options ruled out
While Osimhen’s name gains traction, other forwards have been ruled out. Dušan Vlahović, who could be available on a free transfer from Juventus, is not seen as the right fit to lead the attack.
Benjamin Šeško, who has struggled to establish himself at Manchester United, is also not being considered, while Rafael Leão has fallen off the radar due to inconsistent performances at AC Milan.
A key decision ahead
Barcelona knows that signing a striker is one of its top priorities in the upcoming transfer window, and several options remain open.
In that context, Victor Osimhen stands out as a realistic alternative, though not the leading one. Much will depend on how the market unfolds… and whether the club can secure its primary target or is forced to activate Plan B.
