Vitor Roque Slept Only 4 hours Before His Presentation With Barcelona
Vitor Roque had a hectic day with FC Barcelona. From making his debut with the first team against Las Palmas, securing a 2-1 victory, to his late return to Barcelona and then sleeping only four hours before his presentation with the squad.
The forward debuted last night with Barça against UD Las Palmas, coming on as a substitute for the final 13 minutes at the Estadio Gran Canaria. Despite displaying his ability to make runs and flair, he missed a scoring opportunity.
Roque began Friday by signing a contract that binds him to FC Barcelona until June 30, 2031, in a private ceremony at the Ciudad Deportiva Joan Gamper offices.
The Brazilian revealed he slept for four hours after debuting the previous night, describing it as "a dream come true since childhood." Roque shared that Xavi advised him to "stay calm" and focus on "playing." He also mentioned that all the team members welcomed him "very well."
'Tigrinho' is the forty-seventh Brazilian in Barça's history and the fifteenth forward. The '90s were a golden era for Brazilian attackers, including Ronaldo Nazario, Rivaldo, and Romario.
In the last decade, players like Neymar, Malcom, and Raphinha joined. Neymar, with 105 goals in 186 official matches, was part of one of the best forward trios in football history alongside Luis Suárez and Leo Messi.
Malcom scored four goals in the 2018-19 season, while Raphinha was the only Brazilian in Xavi's team until Vitor Roque's arrival. The winger contributed ten goals and twelve assists in his debut season.
