Vitor Roque Has Touched Down in Barcelona
The Brazilian forward, Vitor Roque, touched down in Barcelona this Wednesday and is set to join his first training session as a Blaugrana under the guidance of Xavi Hernández on the afternoon of December 29.
The former Atletico Paranaense attacker, aged 18, arrived in the Catalan capital early in the morning, accompanied by his family.
The Catalan club confirmed Víctor Roque's arrival by posting a brief message on social media ("I'm here"), along with a photo of him inside the vehicle that picked him up from El Prat airport. In the picture, the footballer is seen smiling, wearing a Barça cap and jacket, giving the classic surfer-style greeting.
Roque's arrival, who has signed an eight-season contract with Barcelona with a release clause of 500 million euros, was originally planned for the upcoming summer. However, the team's lack of goals and the injury to Pablo Paez Gavira 'Gavi' have brought forward his arrival by six months.
The Brazilian will meet his new teammates in the session on the coming Friday and, the following day, will have his first interaction with the Blaugrana fans during the open training session the squad will hold at the Johan Cruyff Stadium.
Vitor Roque could make his debut in the first league match of the year against Las Palmas, scheduled for January 4 at 9:30 PM at the Gran Canaria Stadium.
