Real Madrid and Atlético Legends React to Xavi's Departure from Barcelona
Legends of Real Madrid and Atlético Madrid have expressed surprise at the timing of Xavi Hernández, Barcelona's coach, deciding to leave the Catalan bench on June 30, as stated in the solidarity paddle derby held on Wednesday at the Madrid Arena Pavilion as one of the events organized for the start of the Hexagon Cup.
Dani Lara, a former Real Madrid player, stated that the demand at the Catalan club is "maximum" but described the situation as "strange" to leave when the season ends.
"In the end, he has his part of reason because the demand is maximum, but it is a situation that is strange for me, especially leaving on June 30. For me, it is something new, and we will see how it affects the squad because it is not an easy situation to handle," he said.
On the other hand, Luis Milla, a former player for the Catalan and Merengue team, explained that the situation is "complicated," and he also had doubts about whether it is the best time to make the decision.
"I don't know if it is the best decision to say that you are leaving halfway through the season, and from experience in those situations, I don't know if the players unconsciously will not give 100%, but this will be seen," he emphasized.
On the red and white side, Juanfran indicated that he was "surprised and quite puzzled" because he believes that Xavi is the "perfect coach" for Barcelona, and for this reason, he would try to keep him.
"It surprised me and puzzled me a lot because I think Xavi is the perfect coach for Barca, and I would try to keep him because he is a great player," he emphasized.
When asked about the perfect replacement, Lara and Milla conceded: someone who adapts to the philosophy and idea of the club, who knows the house, and who is accustomed to maximum pressure.
