RB Leipzig Stands Firm Against Barcelona in Dani Olmo Negotiations
Barcelona will have a tough time signing the top scorer of the Euros. The German club sent a clear message to the Catalan side.
Barcelona has stepped up its efforts to sign Dani Olmo. The club has reached an agreement with the player and sent a new proposal to RB Leipzig, but it's not going to be a walk in the park.
In fact, the German club sent a clear message to the Catalan side through their sporting director, Rouven Schröder. The message made it clear that Barcelona will have a tough time acquiring Dani Olmo.
"Dani has incredible value to us, both as a player and as a person. We are under no pressure to sell him," Schröder told Sky Sport.
He also mentioned that RB Leipzig expects Olmo to return to the team after enjoying his well-deserved vacation following Spain's Euro 2024 win.
"There can't be only one winner"
Schröder added in an interview with Bild, emphasizing that they will not make it easy for Barcelona to secure Olmo.
"If we don't reach an agreement with a club, the player will stay with us. And if something suitable comes up, we will consider it. But one thing is clear: there can't be only one winner."
This is a direct message to Barcelona that the proposal must meet RB Leipzig’s interests.
Meanwhile, according to Fabrizio Romano, Dani Olmo's agents are set to hold talks with the German club about Barcelona's latest offer, particularly to determine how to move forward toward a resolution that satisfies all parties.
