From Overcoming Cancer to Winning the AFCON, and Now to La Liga Spain
Sébastien Haller sealed his transfer at the last minute and will be another major star in Spain.
As the transfer window was closing, Leganés announced the loan signing of Ivorian international striker Sébastien Haller from Borussia Dortmund. Haller was the top scorer in the 2021-22 UEFA Champions League with Ajax, netting 11 goals in eight matches.
Having started his career at Auxerre’s youth academy, Haller moved on to the Dutch side Utrecht, then played for Eintracht Frankfurt and West Ham, before shining at Ajax and joining Borussia Dortmund in 2022 for €31 million. Now, he is set to play in LaLiga EA Sports with Leganés, with his registration currently "provisionally" validated.
Haller, 30, who overcame testicular cancer during his first season with the German club, has played 41 matches for Borussia Dortmund over the past two seasons, scoring four goals.
"The date of his presentation will be confirmed soon," Leganés announced.
