It's worth recalling that two years ago, there was a possibility of the Dutchman leaving Barcelona when an offer came from Manchester United. However, de Jong was resolute in his commitment to stay with the Blaugrana.
Despite this situation, the Barcelona board highly values the 26-year-old midfielder. Just a couple of days ago, Deco (sports director) stated that he would "never exchange de Jong and (Ronald) Araujo for (Kylian) Mbappé."
