Barcelona Confirms Marc-André ter Stegen's Severe Injury and Scheduled Surgery Date
The Barcelona club issued a medical report confirming that their German goalkeeper has sustained one of the most severe injuries a player can experience.
In the medical statement released by Barcelona, it was also confirmed that the German keeper will undergo surgery on Monday, after which a further update will be provided.
Ter Stegen sustained the injury late in the first half of Barcelona's LaLiga EA Sports match against Villarreal (1-5) at El Madrigal on Sunday.
The German injured his right knee—the same one operated on in May 2021—after an awkward fall during a challenge and had to be stretchered off, with Iñaki Peña replacing him.
