Spain Tops Argentina in Market Value Ahead of World Cup Final
Spain enters the 2026 FIFA World Cup final with the more valuable squad, worth €1.22 billion compared to Argentina's €807 million. However, history has shown that trophies are not decided by market value alone.
The 2026 FIFA World Cup final will feature two of the world's elite national teams, but Spain enters the match with a clear advantage in squad market value. According to Transfermarkt figures compiled by EFE, Spain's roster is valued at €1.22 billion, while Argentina's stands at €807 million.
Ironically, neither of the tournament's two most valuable squads—France and England—managed to reach the final after being eliminated in the semifinals.
Spain's talented generation has seen its market value soar thanks to the performances of several young stars competing for Europe's biggest clubs. Their impressive depth makes La Roja the highest-valued team among the finalists.
Argentina, meanwhile, arrives with a less expensive squad but one built on experience, chemistry and proven competitiveness under Lionel Scaloni. The reigning South American champions have once again shown that teamwork and resilience can outweigh financial valuations.
The gap between both squads exceeds €400 million, highlighting Spain's economic advantage on paper. Yet, once the match kicks off, those numbers will carry little weight.
On Sunday, Spain will try to translate its financial strength into World Cup glory, while Argentina hopes to prove once again that football's greatest prize cannot be measured solely by market value.
