Kylian Mbappé's difficult season at Real Madrid has raised questions about how he will arrive at the World Cup with France. Didier Deschamps, however, has no concerns.
The France manager insisted that his captain is fully prepared for the tournament and dismissed suggestions that Real Madrid's problems could affect him.
"He is in perfect physical and mental condition"
Speaking ahead of France's friendly against Ivory Coast in Nantes, Deschamps defended his star forward.
"I speak with him and he speaks with the players because he is the captain. What happens at club level is one thing, but the national team is different," Deschamps said.
The coach then offered a clear assessment of Mbappé's current situation.
"Kylian is in perfect physical and mental condition," he stated.

Mbappé brings World Cup experience
Deschamps also highlighted the experience Mbappé provides to the French squad.
"Kylian has experience that the others do not have. This is his third World Cup and a World Cup is something very difficult," the coach explained.
France will rely heavily on that experience as they pursue another deep run on the world stage.
Positive updates on Saliba and PSG players
Deschamps also revealed that William Saliba arrived in good condition despite recently playing in the Champions League final with Arsenal.
The French manager added that PSG players who won the Champions League also joined the squad fresh and ready for World Cup preparation.
The tournament in the United States, Mexico and Canada will be the final World Cup of Deschamps' tenure as France manager.
