Argentina says it overcame an “anti-Argentina campaign” to reach the 2026 World Cup Final
Argentina has not forgotten what it experienced at the 2026 World Cup. One month after the Final, the national team released an emotional video looking back at its tournament run and claiming it reached the title match despite an “anti-Argentina campaign.”
The video combines footage from Argentina's matches at the World Cup, scenes of its supporters and some of the defining moments from the team's journey to the Final.
“A month ago something happened. What many people didn't want to happen, happened: Argentina played in another Final,” the message begins.
The video emphasizes the team's ability to overcome adversity throughout the tournament and specifically highlights the victory over England in the Semifinals.
“What happened was that we came back in every match along the way, that we made history by knocking England out in a Semifinal,” it says.
Argentina claims there was an “anti-Argentina campaign”
The message becomes more pointed when the Argentina national team directly addresses its detractors and claims there was a campaign against the team during the 2026 World Cup.
“This group arrived with the goal of giving the Argentine people another Final, and no matter how much of an anti-Argentina campaign there was, we got there anyway,” the video says.
The post also emphasizes the team's effort despite falling short of the title against Spain.

“When someone tells you something happened, tell them yes. What happened was that there was a team that gave everything to win, fought until the end and walked away with its head held high.”
The closing moments focus on Lionel Messi. The footage shows the Argentine captain in tears after a World Cup in which the Albiceleste once again reached the title match.
“Our captain's tears taught us once again that you can win, but what you can never do, no matter what happens, is stop trying,” the message concludes.
One month after the Final, Argentina used the video to look back on its journey through the 2026 World Cup, highlighting the obstacles it believes it overcame on the road to the decisive match against Spain.
