Jermaine Jones Sent Off; Misses Semifinal
The United States enforcer was sent off in the 52nd minute of the Americans' Copa America Centenario quarterfinal against Ecuador.

United States midfielder Jermaine Jones was sent off after making contact with an Ecuador player's face in the Copa America Centenario quarterfinal.
Ecuador winger Antonio Valencia appeared to be fouled by U.S. midfielder Alejandro Bedoya, but responded to the shirt tug by kicking out at Bedoya. That earned Valencia his second yellow card of the night and a sending off, while Jones made contact with an Ecuador player's face in the ensuing discussions and got a straight red card from Colombian referee Wilmer Roldan.
As play restarted and Jones was still walking off the pitch, Roldan booked American forward Bobby Wood, the second yellow card of the tournament for him.
That means that both Jones and Wood will miss the Copa America Centenario semifinal as the United States' held on to win.
