Endrick: "We Will not Lack Grit to Win The Copa América"
Endrick promised that they will not lack "grit" or "dedication" to fight for the Copa América, which begins on June 20th in the United States.
"We know there are quite a few high-level teams and that it will be a very difficult championship, but we will not lack grit or dedication to win this title," stated the future Real Madrid player in a statement to the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF).
The current Palmeiras forward joined the Canarinha camp to begin preparations for the friendly matches against Mexico and the United States, before their Copa América debut against Costa Rica.
"I am very happy. It’s my first Copa América. It will be my first official tournament with the senior Brazilian national team. We are going to train hard and try to win the title," he declared.
When asked about breaking more precocity records with the Canarinha, Endrick commented that he is not focused on reaching historical milestones but on "helping the coaching staff and the entire team."
"It’s going to be a wonderful tournament. I hope we can have a great Copa América," he expressed.
Endrick, 17, played his last match with Palmeiras on May 30th, as after his stay in the U.S., he will travel to the Spanish capital to join Real Madrid, where he will be alongside his compatriots Vinícius Júnior, Rodrygo Goes, and Éder Militão.
"I am going to fulfill a dream and I hope that God accompanies me," he said about his new chapter with the current Champions League winners.
Before their debut in the competition, Brazil will play two friendlies against Mexico, on the 8th in Texas, and four days later against the hosts, the United States, in Orlando.
The Brazilian coach, Dorival Júnior, has set reaching the final of the tournament as his goal.
