Martirena’s Stunning Goal Gives Racing the Lead in the Sudamericana Final

Gastón Martirena may have scored the best goal of this year’s CONMEBOL Sudamericana, and fittingly, it came in the final against a formidable opponent like Cruzeiro.

The goal arrived in the 15th minute following a pass from star player Juan Fernando Quintero. The Argentine unleashed a thunderous strike from outside the box, putting Racing ahead after an earlier goal by Martirena had been disallowed just minutes before.
