Botafogo showed no mercy against Aurora and thrashed them 6-0 at home, with four goals from Júnior Santos, in addition to goals from Tiquinho Soares and Jefferson Savarino, thus advancing to the next phase of the Copa Libertadores.
The first half of the match was a goal fest for Botafogo, starting from the 3rd minute with Júnior Santos' goal. Later on, Tiquinho Soares did the same and, after an unfortunate play by the Bolivian defense, scored the second goal that would further sink Aurora's hopes by the 15th minute. Finally, Jefferson Savarino sealed the 3-0 lead, practically knocking Aurora out in the first half.
In the second half, Júnior Santos maintained his exceptional rhythm and scored three more goals in the 52nd, 69th, and 81st minutes, asserting their dominance over Aurora, who could do little against the Brazilian team's control.
