Javier 'Chicharito' Hernandez Injured In Bayer Leverkusen Win
The Mexican striker limped off in the second half of his team’s 3-0 victory Saturday.
Bayer Leverkusen is up to third place in the Bundesliga but suffered a scare as Javier “Chicharito” Hernandez was forced off with an injury in the second half.
The striker was visibly limping before being subbed off in the 68th minute of Leverkusen's clash with Eintracht Frankfurt. Leverkusen went on to score three goals from the 70th minute on and, combined with Hertha Berlin’s loss, moved up to third in the Bundesliga.
The team did not offer any update to Chicharito’s condition after the game, saying only that it would provide more information as it became available.
Leverkusen’s leading scorer in the Bundesliga this season, Chicharito has scored 16 times in the league. He’s also picked up four goals in the DFB Pokal and five in the Champions League.
