Women's El Clásico Changes Kickoff
Barcelona confirmed that the women's Clásico against Real Madrid will kick off two hours later than originally scheduled due to the severe weather affecting Catalonia.
El Clásico between Barcelona and Real Madrid will have an important last-minute change. The Catalan club officially confirmed that the Liga F match, scheduled for Sunday, October 4, at the Spotify Camp Nou, will kick off at 7:00 PM instead of the originally scheduled 5:00 PM start.
The change comes in response to the weather conditions affecting Catalonia and the forecast of heavy rain. Barcelona requested that the match be delayed by two hours to provide additional time and ensure the necessary conditions to safely welcome supporters.
The schedule change is intended to ensure that the stadium is fully operational and meets all safety requirements before kickoff, while also reducing potential complications caused by the severe weather.
Barcelona Prioritizes Safety at Camp Nou
The concern goes beyond what could happen on the pitch. One of the main objectives behind the decision is to make travel easier for supporters and improve access to the Spotify Camp Nou.
Forecasts are calling for heavy rain and a risk of flooding in Barcelona, a situation that forced organizers to reconsider the original plans for one of the most anticipated matches of the season.
Instead of kicking off at 5:00 PM, Barcelona and Real Madrid will have an additional two hours before taking the field.
El Clásico Remains at Camp Nou
Despite the severe weather, there is currently no change to the date or venue. El Clásico remains scheduled for Sunday at the Spotify Camp Nou, although it will now begin at 7:00 PM.
The decision provides additional time to assess the development of the weather conditions and ensure that both the stadium and its access points are ready to welcome supporters.
As a result, Barcelona and Real Madrid will still meet in their highly anticipated showdown, but the ball will start rolling two hours later than originally planned.
