The injury situation surrounding Kylian Mbappé had turned into a growing saga. Now, the Real Madrid forward has addressed the issue directly and sent a clear message.
After weeks of speculation regarding his knee problem, the French striker spoke out through social media.
Mbappé responds to injury rumors
Spanish outlet Marca had reported a possible disagreement between Mbappé and Real Madrid’s coaching staff, suggesting that the player sought additional medical opinions in France due to the slow recovery from a knee injury he has been carrying since December.
The club had previously confirmed that French specialists conducted tests under the supervision of Madrid’s medical team and validated that the conservative treatment plan remained appropriate.
Mbappé then posted a photo showing himself smiling alongside Real Madrid physiotherapists in a gym in France. The caption read: “It’s all about work.”

Why is Mbappé avoiding surgery?
According to reports, the French forward is trying to avoid surgery to protect his chances of playing in the 2026 World Cup, set to take place in the United States, Mexico and Canada.
While there is no confirmed return date, Marca indicates that France hopes to have him available for friendlies in the United States on March 26 against Brazil and March 29 against Colombia.
Will Mbappé play in the Champions League?
Mbappé’s target would be to return for the Champions League Round of 16 second leg against Manchester City, scheduled for March 17.
However, he would be ruled out for the league match against Celta and the first leg at the Santiago Bernabéu against Pep Guardiola’s side.
