Jürgen Klopp’s Future Is Decided
It is no secret that Real Madrid has Jürgen Klopp as one of the main candidates to take over the bench next season. However, all signs indicate that the German coach’s future could lie elsewhere.
Possible Return to Germany
In Germany, the possibility is gaining momentum that the former Liverpool coach could become the new manager of the Mannschaft. Criticism of the current coach, Julian Nagelsmann, has increased in recent months, especially due to results that have not fully convinced. This situation could accelerate a change on the national team’s bench.
The main idea is that after the World Cup, “The Normal One” would take the reins of the national team. One reason is that Klopp does not want to immediately return to the intense daily work that managing a club of Real Madrid’s magnitude demands. In contrast, the German national team would offer him a different environment to work in with more calm.
Some German media have even speculated that his arrival could be brought forward, and he could be the one to manage Germany in the World Cup in North America. However, this scenario seems complicated due to scheduling, as the last international date before the tournament will take place in March, leaving him very little time to prepare with the team.
Pressure on Nagelsmann
Currently, Nagelsmann has a contract with the German federation until Euro 2028. However, his continuation will largely depend on what happens in the upcoming World Cup. The pressure in Germany is enormous, especially considering that the national team was eliminated in the group stage in the last two World Cups and fell in the quarter-finals of Euro 2024, results considered unacceptable for a federation that has won four World Cups.
Nagelsmann will face the World Cup under immense pressure: he must aim for the title or, at the very least, deliver an outstanding performance to justify the continuation of his project until the Euro. Otherwise, Germany already has its main candidate ready to take over: Jürgen Klopp.
If this scenario is confirmed, the German coach would definitively leave the Real Madrid radar.
