UEFA tried to find solutions to play the Finalissima
UEFA explained that it attempted to find alternative solutions to keep the match on the calendar, including the possibility of hosting the game in Madrid at the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium.
The proposal included a 50/50 ticket allocation for both national teams, but the Argentine Football Association rejected the option.

Two-leg format proposal also rejected
According to the UEFA statement, another proposal to play the Finalissima as a two-leg tie (home and away) was also rejected.
