Is Cristiano leaving Al-Nassr?

Cristiano Ronaldo could decide to leave the club that welcomed him into the Saudi Pro League and embark on a new chapter in his long career. Although the Portuguese footballer has signed a contract with Al-Nassr until June 2027, he could leave the club before the contract expires.

The Portuguese press reported that the striker was upset with the club’s management and the Saudi fund that oversaw it. Other players in the league have recently expressed their discontent with their clubs as well, such as Al-Ittihad’s Karim Benzema, who is threatening to leave the club.

The Portuguese star’s possible destinations could be primarily in two places: the United States, with the Major League Soccer, and as host of the World Cup this summer. And the other is a return to European soccer, where he was a multiple champion with both Real Madrid and Manchester United when he was younger.

That said, if he leaves before his contract expires, any club wishing to acquire him will have to pay his release clause, nearly $60 million, even tho his market value today is only around 14 million at almost 41 years of age. If his discontent with Al-Nassr continues, Cristiano Ronaldo would have the opportunity to return to the football that gave him the chance to win titles and set records, or he could try out a new league that is becoming the destination for many renowned players, such as his historic rival Lionel Messi.
