Cristiano Ronaldo scores with his back and closes in on 1,000 career goals
Cristiano Ronaldo found the net in the match between Al-Ettifaq and Al-Nassr in the Saudi Pro League, moving even closer to a historic milestone
Turning 40 years old has not slowed down Cristiano Ronaldo, who scored in an unusual fashion — with his back — to reach 957 career goals and edge closer to the extraordinary 1,000-goal mark.
How did Cristiano Ronaldo score his 957th goal?
In the 66th minute of the Saudi Pro League Matchday 12 clash, following a scrappy sequence of rebounds inside the box, the Portuguese star redirected the ball with his back and sent it into the net.
The match ended in a 2–2 draw, bringing Al-Nassr’s perfect run to an end, but CR7 and João Félix’s side remain clear leaders with 31 points.
Cristiano Ronaldo speaks about reaching 1,000 goals
After being named Middle East Player of the Year at the Globe Soccer Awards, Cristiano Ronaldo made it clear that his ambition remains intact and that the historic milestone is firmly in his sights.

“I want to keep going. You already know my goal — I want to win more trophies and reach that number everyone talks about, as long as injuries allow me to,” said the Portuguese forward.
