VIDEO | Recreation of a World Cup Goal 14 Years Later
Fourteen years have passed since the 2010 World Cup in South Africa, a tournament fondly remembered by many. From Spain's dominant performance, Luis Suárez's infamous handball, to the distinctive "Jabulani" ball, this World Cup had numerous memorable moments.
One of the most iconic goals of the tournament was the opening goal scored by Siphiwe Tshabalala in the inaugural match between South Africa and Mexico. This remarkable goal happened in the second half when Tshabalala received the ball and struck it powerfully from a distance, leaving goalkeeper Óscar Pérez unable to stop it.
Now, 14 years later, Tshabalala has decided to recreate this stunning goal at the very same venue: Soccer City in Johannesburg. This recreation momentarily brings back the excitement of the match that kicked off the World Cup and ended in a 1-1 draw.
