This Is the Injury Lamine Yamal Has
The MRI that Lamine Yamal underwent at the Ciudad del Fútbol on Sunday morning ruled out "a structural injury" following the match against Denmark in Murcia. However, he will miss the match on Tuesday in Córdoba against Serbia due to muscle overload.
Yamal will miss his first game due to injury with the Spanish national team since making his debut in the senior squad a year and a month ago under Luis de la Fuente.
The Barcelona winger returns home after being substituted in stoppage time against Denmark in the Nations League and leaving the Enrique Roca stadium limping. The national team's doctors performed the MRI at the Ciudad del Fútbol, which revealed that he is suffering from a muscular problem.
"Lamine Yamal underwent an MRI this morning in Madrid to evaluate the discomfort reported after the match against Denmark. The tests did not detect a structural injury, and the medical staff of the RFEF confirms that it is a muscle overload," the Federation reported.
De la Fuente emphasized that he prioritizes "the player's health," and to avoid any risk of injury ahead of the imminent match against Serbia, it was decided to withdraw him from the squad. Therefore, Yamal will return to Barcelona on Sunday to begin treatment with his club on Monday.
