This is How The Mbappé-Vinícius-Rodrygo Trio Performed in Their First Match with Real Madrid
Real Madrid's new attacking trio, composed of Vinícius, Mbappé, and Rodrygo, played their first match of the season together in the UEFA Super Cup against Atalanta. With the title already secured, here’s how they performed during the match.
The first half was quiet, with no shots on target and Vinícius receiving a yellow card. The first 45 minutes of Real Madrid’s star trio were lackluster, with runs that didn’t create clear goal-scoring opportunities and long-range shots lacking precision from the Brazilians and star Kylian Mbappé.
However, in the second half, the efforts of Mbappé and Vinícius bore fruit. In the 60th minute, a burst of speed from Vinícius Júnior disrupted Atalanta's defense. Amidst the chaos, the defenders focused on covering the Frenchman, leaving Valverde unmarked, who took advantage of Vinícius's assist to score Real Madrid's first goal of the season.
But a night of football wouldn't be complete without Kylian Mbappé making his mark on the scoreboard. He did so thanks to an assist from Jude Bellingham, which will go down in history, finished off with a world-class touch. This was the French star's first goal with the Spanish club.
The match began as it usually does for Real Madrid, with few dangerous actions at the opponent’s goal, but with a second-half storm. A dynamic that is likely to continue throughout the season, becoming a headache for their opponents, who won't know who to mark.
