The English National Team Dominates Spain in Market Value
This Sunday, the Spanish national team will face England in the Euro 2024 final, entering the match as favorites due to their impressive and attractive football throughout the tournament. However, in terms of market value, they lag significantly behind their rivals.
According to 'Transfermarkt', the English squad has a total market value of $1.515 billion, far surpassing the $974.5 million of the Spanish team. Real Madrid's Jude Bellingham tops the list with a value of $180 million. Conversely, Spain's highest-valued player, Rodri Hernández, also plays in the Premier League for Manchester City, with an estimated worth of $120 million.
Forwards
The most significant difference between the two teams lies in their forwards. The English attack, featuring players like Phil Foden ($150 million), Bukayo Saka ($140 million), and Harry Kane ($100 million), totals $615 million. In comparison, the Spanish forwards are valued at $253 million, with Lamine Yamal ($90 million) and Nico Williams ($60 million) leading the way.
Midfielders
In the midfield, the numbers are closer. Spain, led by Rodri, has a total value of $550 million, nearly matching the $565 million of England's midfield, anchored by Bellingham. Other notable players include Barcelona's Pedri ($80 million) and Arsenal's Declan Rice ($120 million).
Defenders
The English defense also outvalues the Spanish backline. The English defenders have a total market value of $276 million, with Liverpool's Trent Alexander-Arnold valued at $70 million. In contrast, Spain's defense is valued at $172.5 million.
Goalkeepers
However, Spain surpasses England in the goalkeeper position. The trio of Unai Simón, David Raya, and Álex Remiro is valued at $90 million, whereas the English goalkeepers Jordan Pickford, Aaron Ramsdale, and Sean Henderson are valued at $59 million.
