Sleep in Cristiano's Bed? Now You Can!
They're auctioning off the bed Cristiano Ronaldo slept in during his visit to Slovenia for a friendly match on March 26th.
The impact Cristiano Ronaldo has on society is unlike many other footballers, so much so that people are willing to pay a hefty sum of money to buy an item the Portuguese star used solely for sleeping: the bed he had while staying at the Grand Plaza Hotel during the Portuguese national team's visit to Slovenia for a friendly match on March 26th.
The famous bed will be auctioned off by the Grand Plaza Hotel with an initial bid of five thousand euros ($5,400 USD), a slightly high amount, but undoubtedly an opportunity for fans of the former Real Madrid player and collectors to acquire a piece of great value.
On the other hand, a spokesperson for the Grand Plaza Hotel in Slovenia stated that, together with the hotel and the media company POP TV, they have joined forces so that the proceeds from this auction go directly to charity. "Since this was a rather special and unique event, we decided to prepare a unique surprise in which all fans can participate. We don't know when we'll have the chance to host Ronaldo in Slovenia again," said the Grand Plaza spokesperson.
To conclude, in that match against the Slovenian national team, Cristiano started for Portugal but couldn't prevent them from losing 2-0. Undoubtedly a painful defeat for the Portuguese star, regardless of it being a
friendly match.
