Racism Insults Against Tchouaméni In Mallorca
A young fan was captured on camera imitating monkey gestures in the stands of Son Moix stadium after a goal by French player Aurélien Tchouaméni secured a 1-0 victory for Real Madrid over Mallorca, as shown on Movistar +.
This incident marks another instance of racism at the Mallorca stadium, which was not included in the match report by referee José María Sánchez Martínez.
In the footage, a Mallorca supporter wearing a black shirt and the team's scarf can be seen mocking the French footballer while his companions celebrate the goal.
This is not the first time that Son Moix has witnessed xenophobic behavior. A year ago, a Mallorca season ticket holder was fined $4,000 and banned from the stadium for 12 months for shouting "you're a monkey" at Real Madrid player Vinícius Júnior, who also played in the match on Saturday.
That incident led to legal proceedings in the Palma de Mallorca court. LaLiga reported the racist insults and chants directed at Vinicius during the match, a situation that has occurred frequently at other stadiums.
The player testified via video conference on April 4, 2023, stating that he felt "offended" by the xenophobic and racist chants he received during the game.
