Nominees for The Best FIFA Football Awards 2023
Manchester City dominates the nominations for The Best male player of the year award presented by FIFA, with Argentine Leo Messi also on the list. In the female category, the contenders for the award include Colombian Linda Caicedo and four Spanish players, Aitana Bonmatí, Jenni Hermoso, Salma Paralluelo - world champions - and Mapi León.
A panel of experts has selected the candidates from a longer list compiled by FIFA, based on their achievements during the relevant periods. The public voting period is open in various categories and will end on October 6.
The international jury that will deliver its verdict consists of national team captains, coaches, journalists, and fans from around the world.
Nominees for the Puskás Award for the best goal scored between December 19, 2022, and August 20, 2023, can be voted for between Thursday, September 21, and Tuesday, October 10.
