An omission that raises eyebrows. A regular starter in Real Madrid's attack and a key figure in the team's success both domestically and in Europe, Rodrygo is notably absent from the list of thirty nominees for the 2024 Ballon d'Or, unlike some of his teammates such as Jude Bellingham, Vinicius Jr., Kylian Mbappé, and Antonio Rüdiger. 

More than just a surprise, this feels like an oversight for the young Brazilian winger.

Through a photo posted on his Instagram account, Rodrygo expressed his frustration and disappointment in the hours following the list's announcement by sharing an image of himself with the many trophies he won throughout the year. 

While some fans and observers also reacted to his surprising absence, football stars like Neymar were quick to show their support for the Brazilian international.

As Rodrygo's teammate on the Brazilian national team, former PSG star Neymar also shared a message on his social media. 

"At least top 5 in the world. Crack," commented the former FC Barcelona player, along with a photo of Rodrygo in the Brazil jersey. While Neymar's support won't change the controversial list, it will certainly provide some comfort to the young forward.
