Napoli Excludes Victor Osimhen from Squad List!
Napoli has made a bold statement by not including Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen in their Serie A squad, signaling their intent to keep him out of the project this season as they await a possible move to Saudi Arabia, whose transfer window closes on Monday.
The "Osimhen Case" has not had the resolution many expected. The Nigerian star, who has been seeking a move away for months, is currently sidelined from Napoli's plans and was looking for an exit that seemed certain but ultimately did not materialize.
Osimhen is not training with the squad and has not been included in the matchday squads by manager Antonio Conte, who now has Belgian striker Romelu Lukaku as his central forward. Lukaku will wear the number 11 jersey, as announced by the club on Saturday.
Osimhen was unable to secure a move to the Premier League, specifically to Chelsea, with whom negotiations continued until the final moments of the summer transfer window. As a result, he remains with the Neapolitan side unless he manages to secure a transfer to a league with an open market, such as Saudi Arabia.
The forward is not listed in the official squad registered for Serie A, meaning if he doesn't find a move in the coming hours, he will be excluded from the team's activities and will likely try to seek an exit in the winter transfer window, unless the strained relationship between the club's management and the player can be mended—an unlikely scenario at this point.
