Messi Could Miss International Break Due To Injury
Bad news for the Argentine National Team, as star Argentine player Lionel Messi is at risk of missing the upcoming international break after suffering an injury with Inter Miami.
This occurred in the team's match against Nashville in the Round of 16 of the Concacaf Champions Cup; the same game where the "10" scored a goal and provided an assist, leading Inter to a 3-1 victory.
However, Messi had to leave the game in the 49th minute, and although initially it was believed to be only precautionary due to some minor discomfort felt by the player, Gerardo Martino stated that several tests would be conducted to confirm the severity of the injury.
It was finally confirmed that Messi has a muscular injury in the hamstring of his right leg, which he suffered in the first leg game against Nashville. As a result, the Argentine will not be available for the match against DC United.
We will have to wait to see if Messi will be ready for Argentina's matches against El Salvador and Costa Rica, which will be played on March 22 and 26 respectively, as part of the preparation for the 2024 Copa America.
