Mbappé Surpasses Messi in This Sector
Mbappé, Messi, and Maradona lead the list of footballers with the best "merchandising" in the world
The British study, "Ticketgum," unveils two major surprises in the world of sports merchandise centered around footballers, revealing some intriguing findings.
The first headline-grabbing result is that Diego Armando Maradona remains the 'King' among fans addicted to purchasing football-related items, despite his passing in November 2020.
Secondly, we have a rather enticing and surprising discovery showing that Kylian Mbappé reigns supreme among active footballers, surpassing Argentine superstar Leo Messi in revenue generated for sports merchandise sellers.
"Ticketgum" based its findings on apparel sold worldwide, without employing the same number of verifications for each player. For instance, Pelé, ninth on the list, had the most items (84) with verified prices, four more than Zinedine Zidane, ranked sixth.
These findings underscore the enduring influence of Maradona and the growing popularity of Mbappé in the football world and the merchandising business. The study also demonstrates how fans continue to be drawn to products associated with their football idols, whether past or present.
