Martino Says Messi Is Ready to Return for Inter Miami
Argentine coach Gerardo Martino, manager of Inter Miami, confirmed this Friday that Lionel Messi "is available" for Saturday's MLS match against Philadelphia Union and will return to action after two months sidelined with an ankle injury.

"He's doing well. He returned to training yesterday. He’s being considered for tomorrow’s match (against Philadelphia Union in MLS). After training, we’ll decide the strategy with him, but yes, he’s available," Martino said during the pre-match press conference at Chase Stadium.
"We have the best player in the world back in the team, who was on a positive streak, so we’re all happy about that," he added.
Messi hasn't played since July 14, when he was injured during the Copa América final, where Argentina triumphed over Colombia.
The Argentine forward resumed full training this week, except for one day off due to a throat issue.
"The issue that prevented him from training coincided with his ankle recovery, but he had been training well. We always thought Philadelphia would be the match for his return. Fortunately, that was just one day, and yesterday he trained normally. We’ll take his recent condition into account to finalize the strategy," Martino assured.
The coach did not confirm if Messi would start against the Union but mentioned there are no longer any minute restrictions regarding his physical condition.
Inter Miami leads the MLS Eastern Conference with 59 points, eight ahead of second-place Cincinnati, with seven matches remaining in the regular season.
The Florida club has already secured a spot in the playoffs.
