Luis de la Fuente Responds to Vinícius Jr. About Racism in Spain
Luis de la Fuente, the Spanish coach, acknowledged that he hasn’t heard the comments from Brazilian Vinícius Jr., who stated that if Spain does not evolve in its fight against racism, the 2030 World Cup should "change its location." However, De la Fuente defended Spain as a country that is an "example of coexistence, respect, and integration."
"I haven’t heard them, but I’ve been told about them," De la Fuente admitted when asked about Vinícius’ comments at his press conference in Belgrade.
"Spain is not racist; it is an example of coexistence, respect, and integration. A model that many people should look up to. A clear example. Of course, there are always a few undesirable individuals. That’s the improvement we need to make to eradicate them, but Spain is an example for many countries," De la Fuente responded.
Additionally, the Spanish coach is confident that Spain, along with Morocco and Portugal, will be a great host for the World Cup, calling it a "unique event" and a "success in the future," defending his country’s ability to organize major events.
