Istanbulspor Shows Heartwarming Support for Teammate with Video Call Celebration
Istanbulspor, a Turkish second-division team, won hearts with a touching gesture during their season debut. After scoring their third goal of the match, the team made a meaningful gesture by calling Baran Alp Vardar, a 19-year-old defender recently diagnosed with cancer, via video call.
The players, led by the goal scorer, connected with Vardar to share their celebration with him. They also displayed a shirt with Vardar's name and number 10 in the stadium, emphasizing their solidarity and support.
Vardar, who had been a part of the Istanbulspor first team, received the cancer diagnosis after recent medical tests. The club expressed their support on social media, stating: "We will always be with you, our dear Baran Alp Vardar. The player who came up through our ranks and played for our first team has been diagnosed with cancer, and we have begun the treatment process. We will always be with you."
Currently undergoing treatment, Vardar is hospitalized and receiving medical care. The club president has also visited him to offer support and encouragement during this challenging time.
