Hazard's Admission: 'I Was Gaining 4 or 5 Kilos'
The former Real Madrid player, Eden Hazard, opened up in the "obionepodcast" podcast with his former Chelsea teammate, Obi Mikel, and shared details about his tumultuous time at the "Merengue" club, which did not end the way the Belgian legend would have wished.
"Every summer I would gain 4 or 5 kilos because I thought I had already given so much during ten months. You put your body at the maximum level and people kick you. So your free time is your free time," were the statements of the Belgian footballer, which could explain his poor performance at Real Madrid after exciting expectations following his impressive display at the 2018 World Cup in Russia.
Upon his arrival in the summer of 2019 at Real Madrid, the coaching staff of the white club realized that Hazard's habits would cause them many problems. "The first month of the season is the part where I thought it was just the beginning, and then, from September and October, I was flying because I needed time to get my body and mind in the best shape. So yes, it's true, I came back from vacation with five extra kilos, I knew it," Hazard declared.
However, the Belgian player tried to get in his best physical and mental shape with Real Madrid; however, a harsh tackle from Meunier sealed his fate, and coupled with the COVID-19 pandemic, Hazard's intentions were not fulfilled, and "The rest, you already know the story," he concluded.
