Good News for Barcelona! This Has Been Approved
The FC Barcelona members' assembly has overwhelmingly approved the club's budget for the upcoming season, which projects a profit of $5 million.
A total of 514 club members participated in the vote, out of the 4,331 eligible to do so. Of those, 409 voted in favor, 75 against, and 28 abstained.
The approved budget includes $893 million in projected revenue—slightly lower than the $894 million in operational revenue from the 2023-24 season—and $873 million in expenses. The club is expecting a $5 million profit.
In terms of revenue, the largest source is commercial deals ($446 million), followed by media rights ($241 million), stadium-related income ($154 million), asset sales ($30 million), and transfers and loans ($22 million).
Club treasurer Ferran Olivé commented that returning to Spotify Camp Nou is expected to generate an additional $28 million, and the biggest increase will be in the commercial area, with a $72 million boost, mainly due to Barca Licensing and Merchandising (BLM) and the new Nike contract.
As for expenses, they total $873 million, with player wages accounting for the largest portion at $510 million.
“We have to keep the wage bill in check if we don’t exceed our revenue, especially since young players will ask for more money, and that will be our job to manage,” Olivé explained.
