Flick Shares His Opinion on Vinícius Playing the Supercopa Final
Hansi Flick, coach of Barcelona, expressed his agreement this Saturday with Brazilian forward Vinícius Júnior being able to play the Supercopa final with Real Madrid. This comes despite the two-match ban he received for his red card in the last league match against Valencia, as Flick believes it is a different competition.
Flick Backs Vinícius Amid Controversy
Flick raised no objections to Vinícius’ participation, even as some clubs and players have complained about the Disciplinary Committee only imposing a two-match suspension for his slap on Valencia goalkeeper Stole Dimitrievski.
"It’s not my decision. Everyone wants to see the best players. The Supercopa is a different competition, so it’s fine," said Flick about the Brazilian international during the press conference held on the eve of the final at the King Abdullah Stadium in Jeddah, the venue for the match.
Confidence Booster for the Season
For Flick, winning the title would provide the squad with "a great deal of confidence for the rest of the season."
"Winning this match will be huge for everyone. We want to win for the club, for the squad, and for the fans," he emphasized.
