Dortmund Would Earn More Money if They Lose The Champions League Final!
Borussia Dortmund achieved the unimaginable by eliminating a strong Paris Saint-Germain, returning to a Champions League final for the first time in 11 years, where they will face Real Madrid.
However, the team led by Edin Terzić finds themselves in a very peculiar situation, all thanks to Jude Bellingham (former Dortmund player): they would earn more money if they lose the final than if they win it!
According to Bild, in Bellingham's transfer to Real Madrid, in addition to the fixed 103 million paid for the midfielder, an additional clause was specified. The clause states that if Bellingham wins the continental tournament, Madrid would have to pay an extra 20 million to Dortmund.
This amount is exactly the same as the prize money UEFA awards to the Champions League winner, while the runner-up receives 15 million. Therefore, if Dortmund loses the final at Wembley, they would receive a total of 35 million!
