Cristiano Ronaldo to Wear Portugal's New Jersey
The Portuguese national team has a new look inspired by Portuguese tradition and featuring the country's typical colors.
The Portuguese Football Federation (FPF) unveiled on Monday the new kit for the national team for the 2024 UEFA European Championship in Germany, inspired by the country's tradition with the colors of its flag and typical tiles.
Under the motto 'Sharing the passion,' the main jersey features the classic colors of the country, red and green, from the Portuguese flag, with the word Portugal written on the inside.
The secondary kit is inspired by the country's traditional architectural art, said the FPF in a statement, "keeping home close to the hearts of players and fans when they play away."
The design reflects the typical Portuguese blue tiles and "gives a subtle tone to the usual white of Portugal's second jersey," noted the FPF.
The Federation added that the new kits "reinterpret Portuguese tradition and imagery with a modern perspective to amplify the passion of all Portuguese fans."
For this release, the FPF also published a promotional video featuring several young people wearing the new jerseys playing table football, where the players are also seen sporting the freshly unveiled kit.
