Cristiano Ronaldo Opens Up About His "Controversial" Gesture
Cristiano Ronaldo publicly addressed the controversial gesture he made after receiving chants of "Messi, Messi" during a match, leading to a one-game suspension.
Before Al-Nassr's match against Al-Ain in the Asian Champions League, the Portuguese star reiterated that the gesture is common in Europe.
"Some people have a poor understanding of things, and my actions are sometimes not correctly understood. What I did and what I was punished for was a misunderstanding. I respect the country I live in. Who doesn't make mistakes in life?" stated the 39-year-old.
Additionally, Cristiano emphasized that he is "happy in Saudi Arabia" and that sometimes "emotions make one act before thinking," but he reiterated that he did not do it with the "intention of hurting people."
