Cavani Bids Farewell to The Uruguay National Team
Uruguayan forward for Boca Juniors, Edinson Cavani, announced through a post on his social media that he is "stepping aside" and retiring from the Uruguayan national team.
"Without a doubt, these were many precious years. I would have a thousand things to say, recount, and remember, but today I want to dedicate myself to this new stage of my career and give my all where I am. Today I decide to step aside, but I will always follow you with my heart beating strongly, just like when I went out onto the field wearing this beautiful jersey," the footballer wrote.
Cavani bid farewell with 136 matches and 58 goals, records that make him the second highest scorer for the Uruguayan national team, only behind Luis Suárez.
