Casemiro Becomes Shareholder of Spanish Team
The Brazilian midfielder from Manchester United highlighted the "spectacular growth opportunities of the club" when investing.
Brazilian midfielder Carlos Henrique Casemiro has become a new shareholder of Marbella FC, recently promoted to Primera Federación (the third tier of Spanish football) and presided over by former footballer Esteban Granero, with the aim of "dreaming big" and taking the club "to the top."
The Malaga-based club announced it on Tuesday in a statement, attaching several images of the Brazilian player posing with the team's home and away jerseys, both featuring his name and the number one.
A few days ago, Marbella secured promotion to Primera RFEF, the third tier of Spanish football, after overcoming two playoff rounds, the last one against Logroñés with a 1-0 victory at the Las Gaunas stadium, confirming their ascent.
"Marbella Football Club is pleased to announce that Carlos Henrique Casemiro, star of Manchester United, the Brazilian national team, and a five-time UEFA Champions League winner, has become a new shareholder of our entity," the club's statement begins.
"The enthusiasm and commitment that Casemiro demonstrates with the project are evident with his addition to the club's shareholder structure. Not only Marbella, but the entire city, is proud that a world-class athlete wants to be part of our family," the statement adds.
The player, currently with Manchester United, had his first words as a member of the board of directors: "It is an honor for me to join Marbella Football Club because my greatest motivation is the spectacular growth opportunities of the club."
Furthermore, he mentions that he has been to Marbella with his family several times, and both he and his children and wife are "in love" with a city "to which we want to be linked for life."
Casemiro has a close professional relationship with the management company of Marbella, the representation agency Best Of You, of which Esteban Granero is part as director of strategies. This company represents Casemiro himself and other players like Álvaro Odriozola, Éder Militão, or Sergio Canales.
"Undoubtedly, together we will dream big to take Marbella to the top, but now we must enjoy our wonderful promotion to Primera," expresses the former Real Madrid player, who joins as a shareholder in an ambitious project aiming to reach professional football after several seasons climbing from the fifth tier, the so-called Tercera Federación.
