Al Ahly sends a powerful message in defense of their title, securing a commanding 3-0 victory over Ghana’s Medeama in a simultaneous fixture in the northern part of the continent. The reigning champions faced a resilient challenge in the first half, with Medeama successfully holding them at bay.

However, after a few tactical adjustments in the second half, Al Ahly broke the deadlock with Kahraba's 66th-minute opener, followed by Hussein El Shatat's strike in the 75th minute. Salah Mohsen then sealed the emphatic victory in the 88th minute, propelling Ahly to joint leadership in Group C alongside Algeria’s CR Belouizdad.
